This Painting was created solely in Painter 5 and all imagery was drawn free hand using a pressure sensitive pen. An underlying figure 8 perspective was used to help create the hourglass like composition. The Olympic Park Institute, an environmental education facility located on Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park, commissioned this piece. The top section depicts OPI’s campus; the lower section depicts Marymere Falls located nearby. My idea was to imply our connection with nature by merging the two. It was used as a poster and catalog cover to help celebrate their tenth anniversary. 

This piece received a 1st place award, 2d commercial art category in the Painter 1998 Beyond the Canvas Art Contest, sponsored by Meta Creations software company.
